We Will Rock You is the best West End musical ever in my opinion. Then Wicked, then Mary Poppins, then The Lion King.

I love Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, and Grease

The opening scene of Pippin, Magic To Do sums up the electricity and magnetism of the theatre, Anything Goes, because of the ship, the costumes, the elegance, and Cole Porter's delectable rhythms. Me and My Girl, remember The Sun Has Got Its Hat On? Hair, for its searching soulful lyrics, Godspell, because of the clowns and the rousing melodies, and the famous song, Day By Day. They're Playing Our Song was very good, for a more scaled down production. Any musical can really move us, and force us to experience a range of full, and rich emotion, and a world of mystery, created on the stage. Some musicals can be really vacuous, though, too, like 42nd Street, Hot Shoe Shuffle, because they're all dance numbers, frothiness and bubble. Sunset Boulevard, for the glamour, and the monkey, and Norma's amazing.
